NEUTRAL CARBON FOR THE WORLD

Carbon Neutral for the world: “Creation of a measuring body,  carbon certification and validation to evaluate the reforestation of 5 thousand hectares of land in Guanacaste, Costa Rica through a novel balsa wood planting and harvesting technique.”

This project has the purpose of generating two fundamental activities simultaneously and jointly:

1. Carbon Measurement, Certification and Validation Body: The body will have licenses in accordance with one or more of the thirteen international standards to measure the pollution generated by all human activity (public or private) in order to determine the activities that must be carried out. to mitigate its impact on the environment and counteract the effects of greenhouse gas (GHG) in accordance with the protocol, agreements and objectives of the 2015 Paris Pact of which Costa Rica and more than one hundred countries are part and have committed to reversing climate change in favor of human life. At the same time, it will have the necessary technology (scientific field instrumentation, specialized drones for geographical measurement of large areas of land, biomass measurement, flora and fauna measurement, real-time connection with specialized satellites to perform different types of thermal measurements and evaluate changes in land activity, chemical and laboratory measurements on impact on soils) by an important group of specialists and scientists in various areas of human knowledge; Biologists, Engineers Foresters, Geologists, among others.

Measure and certify over time the potential for carbon placement in the areas to be reforested through a balsa wood project, for the preparation of Carbon Bonds, Certificates or Assets that will be formally inserted into the national and international financial system, as well as as well as for the Marketing and Sale to third parties of Carbon Certificates to mitigate the footprint; Carbon Neutrality.

Offer specialized services to third parties (public or private entities) inside and outside the country,

Research and teaching: Create in parallel a research institute in Costa Rica that serves students and professionals from all over the world to improve their skills and knowledge in technology and field work.

Generation of Awareness: Provide talks in Costa Rica and the world to Companies, Schools, Colleges, Commerce and Industry on the need to reverse the effects of greenhouse gas (GHG) and to develop private and public practices with activities that erase the carbon footprint that generates each of the human activities.

2. Reforestation with balsa wood. Balsa is a wood with extremely special characteristics, among others, its flexibility, density and resistance, which make it ideal for the construction of wind tower propellers, computer microchips, industry aerospace, glass substitute and stereophone substitute among many other uses. In the Currently, the global demand for this wood exceeds the possibility of supply by millions since, due to its own characteristics, it is not possible to plant it and harvest it at any latitude. Costa Rica offers exceptional weather conditions above any other region in the world. In addition to this, there is technology that allows a planting and harvesting process in much less time, which would allow us to provide wood to global needs faster and more constantly. balsa wood It has in itself a positive impact on the environment since it naturally helps to regenerate devastated soils and place a greater amount of oxygen and carbon in the environment to counteract carbon monoxide pollution. It has already been proven that planting large areas of land with balsa wood influences lowering the temperatures of the surrounding areas and improving the ecosystem by increasing rainfall (water) and animal species. The main purposes of the balsa wood planting project (although not limited to) are:

  • Purchase and initial protection of at least 5 thousand hectares of land dedicated to livestock in Guanacaste, Generate oxygen and carbon into the environment to mitigate carbon monoxide pollution, Sustainably provide the global timber industry with ecological, friendly and environmentally necessary wood.

  • Generate direct employment for more than a thousand people in the area (approximately 5 thousand indirect jobs),

  • Contribute to gender equality (at least 60% of the staff in processing plants will be women)

  • Create housing, education and health projects as benefits for employees and their families.
